Lorena nació en Uruguay, es periodista, editora y escritora. Fue editora en jefe del diario El Telégrafo de ese país, donde trabajó por más de dos décadas, hasta mudarse a Estados Unidos en 2017. Inició su carrera literaria en 2015, con la serie de cuentos infantiles Historias emplumadas.
Ha publicado dos cuentos de la serie, “El ñandú diferente” y “La garza presumida”, ambos bilingües. El primero recibió mención de honor en los International Latino Book Awards, categoría Most Inspirational Children’s Pictures book, en 2020. Mientras que “La garza presumida” recibió mención de honor en los Premios Campoy-Ada, de la Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Española, en 2021, en la categoría Narrativa Infantil.
Lorena was born in Uruguay and is a journalist, editor and writer. She served as the editor-in-chief of El Telégrafo newspaper in Uruguay, where she worked for over two decades before moving to the United States in 2017. She began her literary career in 2015 with the children’s story series Feathered Stories.
She has published two stories from the series, “The Different Rhea” and “The Vain Heron”, both bilingual. The first received an Honorable Mention at the International Latino Book Awards in the Most Inspirational Children’s Picture Book category in 2020, while “The Pretentious Heron” earned an Honorable Mention at the Campoy-Ada Awards from the North American Academy of the Spanish Language in 2021 in the Children’s Narrative category.
