The Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GPHCC) has announced the winners of the “Hispanic Excellency Business Awards 2024,” who will be honored at this year’s Excellency Reception on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at The Switch House in Philadelphia. With this grand event, the GPHCC seeks to celebrate Hispanic business leaders who drive positive change and foster economic growth in the Philadelphia region and its suburbs.
According to the GPHCC, there are 47,600 Latino-owned businesses in the region, contributing billions of dollars to the economy annually. These businesses create jobs, stimulate local economies, and enrich communities with diverse perspectives and services. The “Hispanic Excellency Business Awards” recognize outstanding Hispanic business leaders and community partners who have exceeded expectations and delivered exceptional results, fostering sustainable economic growth and positive change in Philadelphia.
The GPHCC aims to honor “men and women who truly exemplify the unique power, resilience, and excellence that Hispanic entrepreneurs bring to our city,” said Jennifer Rodríguez, President and CEO of the Chamber. “We are thrilled to celebrate them and our entire community at our Excelencia Reception on December 4,” she added.
Rodríguez extended the invitation to everyone working to support Latino businesses in Philadelphia to register and participate “in an evening of inspiration, unity, and joy.”
This year’s honorees include businesses such as Queen & Rook Game Café, owned by Edward Garcia, which will receive the Accelerate Award; SITIO Architecture + Urbanism, owned by Antonio Fiol-Silva, which will receive the Breakthrough Award; Magnum Group Inc., owned by Vivian Isaak, awarded the Staying Power Award; and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 21, which will receive the Above & Beyond Award.
Alba Martínez, Commerce Director for the City of Philadelphia, praised the awards, stating that it is an honor to celebrate the significant achievements of Hispanic business leaders. She also congratulated this year’s awardees for their outstanding contributions to the city’s economic vitality. “Philadelphia remains steadfast in its commitment to empowering diverse businesses, simplifying processes, promoting inclusive economic growth, revitalizing commercial corridors, and positioning itself as a global business hub driven by a talented, high-performing workforce,” she affirmed.
The awards gala, supported by sponsors such as Comcast, Verizon, CSAA Insurance, and Santander, will also provide information about additional sponsorship and fundraising opportunities. Tickets are priced at $75 for members and $150 for non-members. More information is available on the GPHCC website.
