Gloria emigró con su familia, a la edad de cuatro años, de América del Sur a Estados Unidos. Desde pequeña supo adaptarse a cualquier entorno. Viajó a Europa, Sur y Centroamérica, China, y la India, y fue mochilera en el Tíbet.
Sus estudios profesionales en Comunicaciones Empresariales, en la Universidad de Fairleigh Dickinson, la encaminaron a una exitosa carrera que la llevó a ser gerente editorial del boletín interno de la compañía de Mike Bloomberg.
En los pasados años Gloria encontró su verdadera vocación cuando hizo un trabajo misionero en comunidades marginadas que viven en la pobreza extrema en las regiones rurales de los Apalaches de Kentucky, donde fue voluntaria para organizaciones sin fines de lucro como Christian Appalachian Project y St. Vincent Mission. Allí fue asistente social para personas y familias afectadas por las adicciones a las drogas y el alcohol.
Se mudó a Filadelfia en 2021 y se convirtió en consejera de vivienda en Esperanza, donde encontró otra manera de servir.
Valora la riqueza de las sociedades interculturales, habla español con fluidez, fue criada en Jersey Shore y se mudó a la ciudad de Nueva York antes de ser voluntaria en Kentucky. A Filadelfia la llama su hogar.
En su tiempo libre Gloria participa en campañas e iniciativas comunitarias junto con los miembros de su iglesia, además de enseñar la Biblia a los niños en su ministerio. Le encanta ser mamá, escribir sobre arte, leer como pasatiempo, hacer caminatas, practicar yoga, escuchar música para alegrar el corazón y estudiar la Biblia para tener comunión con su Creador.
Gloria emigrated with her family from South America to the United States at the age of four. From a young age, she showed an ability to adapt to any environment. She traveled across Europe, South and Central America, China, and India, and even backpacked through Tibet.
Her professional studies in Business Communications at Fairleigh Dickinson University led her to a successful career, eventually becoming the editorial manager of the internal newsletter at Mike Bloomberg’s company.
In recent years, Gloria discovered her true calling through missionary work in underserved communities living in extreme poverty in rural Appalachia, Kentucky. There, she volunteered with nonprofits such as the Christian Appalachian Project and St. Vincent Mission, serving as a social worker for individuals and families affected by drug and alcohol addiction.
She moved to Philadelphia in 2021 and became a housing counselor at Esperanza, finding yet another way to serve others.
Gloria values the richness of intercultural societies. She is fluent in Spanish, was raised in Jersey Shore, and moved to New York City before volunteering in Kentucky. She now proudly calls Philadelphia her home.
In her free time, Gloria participates in community campaigns and initiatives alongside her church members and teaches Bible lessons to children in her ministry. She loves being a mom, writing about art, reading for pleasure, hiking, practicing yoga, listening to uplifting music, and studying the Bible to deepen her connection with her Creator.
