EAST STROUDSBURG, PA. – On Friday morning, Senator Bob Casey met with the Latinos for Casey coalition members, local supporters, and community leaders at the Viejo San Juan Latin Restaurant in East Stroudsburg. The gathering highlighted Casey’s ongoing commitment to Pennsylvania’s Latino communities, particularly in Monroe County, and provided a platform for the senator to discuss his re-election campaign and legislative accomplishments.

State Representative Tara Probst opened the event with a heartfelt endorsement of Senator Casey, emphasizing his integrity and bipartisanship. «I can tell you that in today’s divisive world, [Casey is] treating people like they deserve to be treated,” said Probst, stressing the senator’s dedication to his constituents.

Senator Casey addressed the crowd, discussing his efforts to support Pennsylvania’s communities, particularly through healthcare initiatives and economic development programs. One of the key achievements he mentioned was his role in capping the cost of insulin through the Inflation Reduction Act.

“They don’t like it that we capped the cost of insulin for seniors across the country at $35 a month. I don’t know why you’d want to run for public office with that position. But a lot of them out there do, including my opponent. So I’m going to continue to work as your United States Senator to deliver for the people of our state,” Casey remarked, underscoring the importance of affordable healthcare.

Casey also touched on the broader social issues at stake in the upcoming election. “We’ve got some issues to settle when it comes to rights. Workers’ rights, women’s rights, and voting rights are all on the ballot in this election,” he urged the community to remain engaged and informed.

The event concluded with Casey reaffirming his commitment to the Latino community and his dedication to continuing his work in the Senate. “I’m running because I want to continue to deliver… to invest in families, to invest in our workforce,” he said, highlighting the significance of the upcoming election and the need for continued advocacy and support.

Local leaders and community members came together to show their support for Senator Casey’s campaign. As the re-election race progresses, Senator Casey’s focus on healthcare, economic development, and social justice is expected to remain a central theme as he seeks another term in office.
