Congress

The republican strategy to avoid the tough questions and anger of their constituents is to not hold town hall meetings. And instead, like puppets on a string, they stood up multiple times during Trumps address to Congress, supporting his actions which are destroying families, jobs and our way of life. And voters should remember this spectacle.

If these elected officials do not have back bone to stand up to Trump, then they need to be recalled.

In his two-hour rambling address, Trumps lies rode on the backs of the skeletons of yesterday’s deep dark lies.

Trump has been yelling ‘fire’ for months, accusing immigrants and trans people of destroying our country. And yes, there is a moral, emotional and financial fire spreading across America, and it was created by the White House.

What we witnessed in an oval meeting between the president of Ukraine and the president and vice president of the United States was the most unprofessional and undiplomatic scene in the history of that room.

Trump and Vance worked like a team of school yard bullies. They were harsh and aggressive, telling more lies than a gangster at a Catholic confessional. It was clearly a set up. Zelensky could not defend himself properly against those attacks. At one point, trump is seen pushing with his hand against the shoulder of Zelensky.

Later MAGA voices were accusing the Ukrainian of being the aggressor and that he should apologize to Trump, and thank the American people for the assistance given to his country. There is a ton of video tapes already showing Zelensky thanking the USA over the past three years.

I, like many who have been bullied, saw the meeting for what it was and wasn’t. After years of being bullied I came back to my home town with muscles grown through sports and hard labor jobs. The bullies then avoided me.

Trump always wants to be the tough guy, except that he has never put on the uniform and gone to defend his own country.

«Time and again, he makes claims so far from the truth that you might need the Hubble Telescope to see reality.»

Here’s a couple for you to contemplate. Trump said that he would resolve the war in Ukraine even before he was sworn in; he also said that food prices would go down as of day one of his presidency; he said that he would shut down the border with Mexico «In this case, he claimed that he would round up the criminal elements first and send them to Guantanamo on military planes, but this did not pan out.»

To round up and deport 12 million undocumented workers he would have to deport 250,000 monthly. In his first month they gathered around 80,000. No one now expects them to deport more than 300,000 people by the end of his first year—if they’re lucky. But, if he sends back the 250,000 Ukrainians who were given refugee in the USA, this might bolster his numbers. Though this could backfire on him, because they are white and have in many cases made friendships in their new communities.

And, as you know, he promised that on day one he would also institute his tariffs against China, Canada and Mexico. The tariffs are in with a delay on auto tariffs for at least a month. China said they don’t fear a tariff war or any kind of war with the USA.

Canada and Mexico are taking careful strategic definition to their tariffs on USA products. The fact that American liquors are being taken off the shelves in Canada has already caused a stir in the USA, since liquor companies never thought they would be targeted in this trade war. And now some northern states will have a 25% increase on their electric bills, since Canada supplies a significant portion of their power.»

Already it is believed that the Trump administration is trying to figure out how to back out of this terrible tariff disaster.

He also said that most of those who died building the Panama canal were Americans, which is not true, and he said Marco Rubio would get the canal back to become property of the USA.

And continued saying that he wanted Greenland to become the 51st state.

He also said that Biden had left the economy in shambles, which is an easy assertion to debunk.

President Trump boasted that a new Honda plant in Indiana would soon be constructed.

Here’s what Trump said: “We’re going to have growth in the auto industry like nobody’s ever seen. Plants are opening up all over the place. Deals are being made, never seen. That’s a combination of the election win and tariffs. It’s a beautiful word, isn’t it?, that, along with our other policies, will allow our auto industry to absolutely boom. It’s going to boom. I spoke to the majors today, all three, the top people, and they’re so excited. In fact, already, numerous car companies have announced that they will be building massive automobile plants in America, with Honda just announcing a new plant in Indiana, one of the largest anywhere in the world.”

Honda denied they were building this so-called multibillion dollar plant that Trump had promoted.

Less than two months have gone by and the anger of fired employees, farmers and others that have lost their grants and businesses, who already are suffering the early point of the tariffs spear are up in arms and speaking out.

Many believe that the dark cloud of uncertainty is hanging over America’s economic and social structure. And no matter the lies coming out of the White House, they will not be able to turn around easily the results of these early and drastic decision’s.

Some have suggested that congressmen and senators have 30% of their staffs fired since they are part of these bloated accusations against federal employees. And they should begin with those who are standing with Trump. Then we might want to be asking red Republican governors to slash their staffs by 30%. Then they will begin to feel the pain that others are suffering. Some republicans argue that the firings should be done with compassion. How is their late coming compassion going to pay the bills and get these people good new jobs?

While Trump is playing with tariffs, he does not seem to understand that his rhetoric is destroying farm businesses, and that by the time he stops talking about tariffs, the damage will be done to the USA and to many other countries.

Trump can sign as many Executive Orders as he wants, but the market cannot move forward while the on-again, off-again tariffs keep changing daily.

I’m worried about what some people, hit hard by the situation created by Elon and Trump, might do.

The worst part of this foundation of anger is that it’s fueled by Trump’s lies, which his supporters consumed like addicts, without giving them the scrutiny they deserved.

Experts know that these state governments must deal with the anger of these citizens in a professional manner. No one to date has expressed the damage this current craziness is doing to our citizens.

In the meantime, a broad coalition of people must demand change. If your congressman or senator seems deaf to your needs, it’s time to take action—perhaps even to recall them. It would be fascinating to see recall petitions in 20 or more states. People have the power, and they must use it.
