PENNSYLVANIA – Bob Casey for Senate released the following statement in light of Republican efforts to disenfranchise Pennsylvanian voters.

Statement from Tiernan Donohue, campaign manager for Bob Casey for Senate:

“David McCormick and his allies are trying to disenfranchise Pennsylvania voters with litigation designed to throw out large tranches of votes that they’ve admitted in legal filings could impact the outcome of the election. Senator Casey wants all Pennsylvanians’ voices to be heard as local county election officials continue to count votes. This democratic process must be allowed to play out to determine the result of this election.”

Read More:

  • McCormick and his allies have now filed two lawsuits and one appeal to the PA Supreme Court to throw out large tranches of ballots, including provisional ballots in Philadelphia and undated mail ballots. In one filing, McCormick’s attorney admitted the votes could “impact…the outcome of the election.”
    • McCormick’s campaign barred reporters from asking questions about the litigation during his press conference.
  • The appeal to the PA Supreme Court on undated ballots is a stark reversal of position for McCormick and his allies, who sued to ensure these ballots were counted in 2022 and argued that to invalidate them would violate the Pennsylvania state constitution.
  • McCormick’s allies are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a desperate television ad attacking and spreading lies about Senator Casey.
  • McCormick is working to disenfranchise Pennsylvania voters while the Casey campaign is working to make sure their voices are heard and the votes are counted in this incredibly close election.
