On Saturday, February 22nd, it will mark 4 years since the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services decided to not renew the license of the Berks County Detention Center. Yet, Berks is still allowed to incarcerate families. This is wrong, this is unlawful and it doesn’t have to be this way. All this week take action to have your voice heard to #ShutDownBerks!
And on Thursday, February 20th, join the Shut Down Berks Coalition and Temple University’s Sheller Center for Social Justice as we demand that PA Department of Human Services do its job and issue an Emergency Removal Order.
