Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations co-hosts event with diverse faith communities to share an evening of connection and reflection
Philadelphia.– As the sun begins to set worldwide, Muslims prepare to break the day’s fast. Ramadan, which began Feb. 28 and will likely run through March 30, is the holy month for Muslims.
On March 19, 2025, the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations (PCHR), the Mayor’s Office of Muslim Engagement, and Peace Islands Institute Pennsylvania will co-sponsor the annual Interfaith Iftar dinner, to be held at the Philadelphia City Hall in the Mayor’s Reception Room. This year’s theme is: “Nostra Aetate (In Our Time): Finding Common Ground & Understanding” is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
The event invites Philadelphians of all faiths and backgrounds to share a meal, exchange ideas, and build lasting connections through food and dialogue.
“We are a nation shaped by the contributions of immigrants and enriched by the diversity of our faiths. At a time when division seems to define us, the interfaith Iftar offers a unique opportunity to come together, fostering understanding, dialogue, and mutual respect. It is through sharing experiences like these that we learn from one another and build bridges toward unity,” said Randy Duque, Acting Executive Director of PCHR.
