The Philadelphia Prevention Partnership celebrated the Latino Golden Age Conference on its 20th anniversary. “Recordando el Pasado, Viviendo el Ahora” is the name of this year’s conference theme and explores the mental and physical changes older adults go through.
The free event, targeted at Latinos 55 and older, was held in Spanish on Saturday, June 18th, 2022; from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Norris Square Senior Center, and featured breakfast, lunch, entertainment, and community resources.
Every year the Latino Golden Age Conference attracts more than 250 Latino older adults. The purpose of the conference is to provide this audience with the opportunity to receive valuable information, address social isolation, food insecurity and other health and well-being issues, while at the same time celebrating who they are as Latino older adults in Philadelphia.
The conference also serves as an opportunity for caregivers to stay updated on resources and information available to them to better care for the older adult.
The event was sponsored by thePhiladelphia Corporation for Aging, 4the Seniors, and Philadelphia Prevention Partnership, and other community partners. Norris Square Senior Center is located at 2121 Howard Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19122.
